Dr. Katie Laird
Assistant Professor of History
Dr. Katie Laird joined the History Department at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ in 2025 as an Assistant Professor of History.  Her research focuses on modern British and imperial history, with particular emphasis on the legal history of the British Empire, gender, and colonial governance. Much of her work examines these themes in the context of the modern Middle East, with a focus on Mandate Palestine. As a licensed attorney, Dr. Laird brings a legal perspective to her scholarship, using her experience in law to inform her analysis of British and imperial legal systems, gender, and colonial administration.
