YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥� Dr. Drew Van Horn, president of 乐播传媒视频, has been awarded the College鈥檚 highest honor, the 乐播传媒视频 Medallion, for his service to 乐播传媒视频 over the past seven years. Van Horn will step down as the College鈥檚 president Dec. 31.听
Van Horn was honored at the College鈥檚 Board of Trustee meeting in November in Atlanta.听听
鈥溊植ゴ绞悠� is proud to award Drew the Medallion Award for his extraordinary service to this College over the past seven years,鈥� said Bill Johnston, chairman of the 乐播传媒视频 Board of Trustees. 鈥淗e guided the College through some difficult times during the COVID pandemic and helped to continue this institution鈥檚 focus while exemplifying all the attributes we endeavor to instill in our students here.鈥�听
Under Van Horn鈥檚 tenure as president, the College has seen improvement in student persistence, 乐播传媒视频 graduate placement, which was reaffirmed by SACS(COC), improved unrestricted fundraising to over $2 million a year, increased the College endowment to over $60 million, began the College鈥檚 first Master鈥檚 Program, streamlined the College鈥檚 operations, all while navigating the world-wide pandemic, and a personal battle with cancer.听
鈥淚鈥檓 honored to receive the Medallion Award, the highest award this College bestows upon an individual,鈥� Van Horn said. 鈥淪erving 乐播传媒视频 and working with the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the Board of Trustees has been an incredible experience. I am forever a Mountain Lion.鈥� 听
听The Board presented Van Horn with a Resolution, approved by the Board at its Nov. 8 meeting, that highlighted Van Horn鈥檚 time with 乐播传媒视频, mentioning: 鈥淒rew Van Horn has given unselfishly of his time, talents and resources to 乐播传媒视频, its students, faculty, staff and administration, and has been an integral part of 乐播传媒视频.听
