Young Harris College to Present Concert Band Concert
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥� The 乐播传媒视频 Concert Band and the 乐播传媒视频 Community Band will present a 鈥淐ollage of Classics鈥� on Thursday, April 6, at 7 p.m. in the Suber Banquet Hall of the Rollins Campus Center on the 乐播传媒视频 campus. Admission is $5 for adults and free for students and children 12 and under.
Featuring music from composers like Modest Mussorgsky, Matt Conaway, Charles Carter, Chris Pilsner and John Philip Sousa, members of the 乐播传媒视频 Community Band and Concert Band will join forces to provide an evening of musical stylings from an array of instruments.
Under the direction of Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music Dr. Mary Land, the 乐播传媒视频 Concert Band gives woodwind, brass and percussion players ample opportunities to perform a wide repertory of wind band literature ranging from traditional to contemporary.
Under the direction of Adjunct Instructor of Music Kerry Rittenhouse, the 乐播传媒视频 Community Band provides an opportunity for local musicians to perform quality musical literature, serves as an educational resource for area schools and presents several free concerts every year for the residents of 乐播传媒视频, Ga., and surrounding areas. The group is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
